An LED Work Light Shines Bright Without All the Heat

Oct 18, 2024

Traditional incandescent work lights are heavy, hot, and tethered to an outlet with an extension cord, which can make them a tripping hazard. The new LED work light from Milwaukee Tool could be a delight for to contractors and homeowners alike because it solves all three of those problems.

The Milwaukee LED Stand Light is built for portability and durability. The stand opens with a push of a button and the light telescopes to a height of 4 to 7 feet. When you're done working, the light collapses and folds up to be stored in a closet or under a work bench. No cords to wrap or tangle—just remove the battery and put it back on the charger.

LEDs give off no heat, so there is no danger of burning yourself. The light is also much brighter, at a maximum of 2,000 lumens compared to 500 lumens from a traditional incandescent. The light can be used at two lower settings to save battery power. At the lowest settings (which is still quite bright) Milwaukee claims you can get 10 hours of continuous light from the same M18 battery that fuels their power tools.

Milwaukee LEDs feature what it calls TRUEVIEW, providing a full spectrum of light. The true colors it produces are more helpful than you might think for seeing the correct color of wires while doing electrical work, and also for painting and woodworking. Plus, having a great long-lasting work light can extend your day to finish projects after it gets dark.
